This is a question that is asked pretty regularly at my blog because the site is all about everything a person would want to know about hair implants of any type. I do not recommend this type of implantation procedure because of the potential for infection due to the introduction of foreign bodies into the scalp barrier. But that besides the point, the answer to the question is no. Artificial hair implants are constructed of a man made material that is not living. It is like implanting strings or threads into the bald area on the scalp.
Artificial implants seem to be popular in India where most of the work is being done. It is quite a bit cheaper than a normal hair implant procedure using the patientâ??s own hair follicles but it is not near as effective. Not only is there a problem with infection caused by contamination but the artificial hairs also limit you to styling options. If you get the hair cut it will not grow back so you are stuck with that style unless you remove the existing hair and replace it.
